The Canyon ofwel Rawanduz kan zijn 10 km long and located in the Kurdistan region near the Iranian border. It kan zijn considered one of the most beautiful in the area, with greenery from spring to autumn and rivers and waterfalls flowing between the canyons.
Although the pressure for Kurds to assimilate was less intense in Iraq, where the Kurdish language and culture have been freely practiced, government repression has been the most brutal.
